Happy Thanksgiving Friends! My belly and heart are full of food, holiday cheer, and wine – just how I like it. First off, I am so thankful for many things – my life, my dad and extended family, Bryan, loving friends who are the family members I have chosen, and so much more. Of course, I am thankful for all of you who read my blog, look at my pictures, comment on my posts and Instagram, and who just CARE. It sure makes a girl feel special. I wish each and everyone of you a blessed Turkey Day. When I get sappy, I just babble, so let’s move onto some shopping.

Lauren James Black Friday Mystery Box 2017

Can you all believe this week is Thanksgiving?! The Holiday season is truly beginning and after coming back from Disney World (See my IG pics here), I am totally ready for all the festivities coming up. B and I are traveling down to Nashville (our first time!) to meet up with his Dad. This is the first time I won’t be at “home” for Turkey Day, since we are renting a house down in Honky Tonk Country, but I know we will make the best of it!

Since we won’t be at our home base, I can’t hit up the local Target or mall to see the craziness of Black Friday shopping. I usually go out more for the novelty of seeing people fight over TVs. My idea of Black Friday shopping is sitting in my PJs with some leftover pie, scouring the online sales. Friday is our day to explore Nashville, so I am hoping to do some shopping late Thursday night!

Speaking of Black Friday deals, Lauren James, a brand I met this past Summer at TBS Con, reached out to me to preview their Black Friday “Your Day Just Got Better” Mystery Box. I adore the preppy style of Lauren James and am so excited to share this great gift idea with you all. The box is $40 and you don’t know what you’ll get in it, until it arrives at your door. The total retail amount of the box is around $300, so at $40, it’s a total steal! All you have to do is tell them your size. Below, I’ll show you some of my favorite items from my personal box. For reference, I got a Medium in everything. I got a total of 7 items, including 2 outerwear pieces (shown below) and 2 great tees for lounging around.

I LOVE a good bell sleeve, and honestly, who doesn’t?? This groovy trend has been back in style for the past couple of seasons, and I love all the great sweaters and tops. I have had my eye on this Free People ‘So Obviously Yours’ Bell Sleeve Top for the longest time, and when it went on sale, I had to snag it! The top is on the shorter side, which is fine for my non-existent torso. Plus, I think it balances out the ultra long, flared sleeves. The sleeves are super unique and have a bow detail that falls right above my elbow. The bow cinches the sleeve in, for a flattering look. I am usually an XS in Free People, but due to my bicep muscles (yes, I have rather large bicep muscles) I went up to a S so that the clinched sleeve wouldn’t cut off my circulation…

Work wear for me is a daily struggle. It’s what I wear the most, so I need to make sure I look good in whatever it is! But I just cannot myself to spend a ton of money for work clothes. Especially when I can use my $$ towards bags, shoes, and oh so many other fun things! After a little over 2 years of adulting, and in the true style of this blog, I’ve put together a work wardrobe mixing low-end and high-end pieces. To do this, I’ve put together a list of must-have staples. These are the items you will constantly wear and mix and match with other pieces, so they should be good quality and you can afford to splurge a little.

Hi Friends! Apologies for being MIA lately. October has been a busy month – B’s birthday, Family obligations, one of my oldest and bestest friends getting married, and just life in general! But now we’re one day away from November?! I can’t even deal.

Even with the weather cooling down, I had a special outfit planned for my friend’s rehearsal dinner. I adore statement closet pieces. A special item, like this Missguided Premium Crochet Lace Midi Skirt, stands out in the best way. Here, I paired it with a simple black crop top and my V alentino Rockstud Pumps. Since it was breezy, I topped the look off with a black moto jacket. For a cute winter look, this skirt plus a cozy off the shoulder sweater, would be too cute. I am wearing a US 4, and it fits perfectly. My crop top could be a teeny bit shorter, but alas, I am blessed with a short torso.
