My Essential Travel Toiletries and How I Keep Them Organized

My Essential Travel Toiletries and How I Keep Them Organized - Stylista Esquire - @stylistaesquire

It’s been a while since I have done a Travel Tuesday post, so here it goes!  I am talking about some of my must-have toiletries that I always need in my bag.  Plus, I am sharing this makeup/toiletries bag I found that has become a lifesaver.  Let’s be honest, trying to pick and choose what products you bring with you on the road can be such a hassle.  If you are anything like me, you think of each and every scenario and rationalize packing your entire bathroom with you!  A while ago, I set on a mission to pare down my travel essentials to what I really need.

24 Hours in San Francisco

San Francisco

Happy Friday everyone!  I am currently recovering from my awesome weeklong vacation to Napa Valley and the San Francisco Bay Area and already reminiscing about all the wine I had.  I flew into SFO, spent 4 days/3 nights in wine country, and then a full day in the city of San Fran. My Napa travel guide will be up on the blog next week (it’s a good one!), but for now, I’m doing a quick itinerary for San Francisco of what to eat and what to see.

Virginia is for (Wine) Lovers

Happy Friday everyone!  I mentioned last week that B and I were going to visit some wineries before he headed off for a month-long work trip, so now I get to share one of my favorite VA wineries with you and a new one we just discovered.  For those who don’t know, Virginia has a ton of wineries all over the state and they are amazing!

Just about 50 minutes outside of DC, you will find one of the most beautiful wineries in the Northern Virginia area, Barrel Oak Winery.  I spent my birthday here last year and fell in love with it.  BOW has a large barn with a main common room, two side rooms, and lots of outdoor space, so it is perfect for large groups.  Tastings start at $7, and as of this past weekend, they had a light/floral tasting and a more robust/strong tasting.  I did the Sparkling Tasting (champagne, prosecco, etc.) which was special for Valentine’s Day.  The special tasting also came with a rose and chocolate, which totally won me over!

Easy Weekend Brunch

In my My New Year’s Resolutions post, I said I wanted to pack my lunch for work, in efforts to eat cleaner and save some $$.  Along with that, I really want to cook more.  In my opinion, cooking at home is healthier because you can control what goes into your meal.  But it also just feels better.  I will justify eating multiple helpings of homemade mac ‘n cheese because I know exactly what kind of cheese I put in it.  All 5 kinds.  Not to disappoint, but this post is NOT about mac ‘n cheese.  Another day…
