The AWAY Bigger Carry-On

AWAY Bigger Carry-On - Stylista Esquire - @stylistaesquire

So I have a hard time admitting when I am wrong.  When I first saw the AWAY suitcases popping up, I didn’t believe the hype.  I just thought so what?? How can you really make luggage any different than what it has been for the past 20 years?? It’s a box that holds your stuff inside a bigger box (the plane).  I have been using my Bric’s Bellagio Spinner Trunk for a while now. It’s oh so pretty, but my only complaint is that since it is an international brand, the size is made to comply with international airlines.  Note – it’s small.  When I was preparing for my trip to Vietnam, I wanted a carry-on suitcase that would fit 2 weeks worth of clothes.  I pondered, did a lot of research, bit the bullet and ordered the AWAY Bigger Carry-On, and I haven’t looked back!

My Favorite D.C. Restaurants

My Favorite D.C. Restaurants - Stylista Esquire - @stylistaesquire

Alright friends, today we are doing something a little different, and it’s been a long time coming.  I talk about where to eat when you travel and what I wear skipping around my town of D.C., but I’ve never blended those two together.  Of the many things I love, food is at the top of my list.  Food is so much more than just nutrients.  Food is an expressive art.  It’s how we celebrate, how we show love, and how we connect with people.  I’ve lived here all my life, and while I may be totally biased to D.C., many of my transplant friends also agree that D.C. is quite the foodie scene.  Below, I’m going to share my top 3 spots for coffee, brunch, and dinner.

Maybe it’s age, maybe it’s my sedentary Office job, but whatever it is, I am trying to get in control of my weight. Now, I’m not going to stand here and rant about how overweight I am – it’s all subjective. I am 5 feet tall, so a few extra pounds on me, is the equivalent of 5 to 10 pounds on someone of average height. While I am not a health expert and this post is not supposed to give you any professional advice on losing weight, I’ll share my tips on how I am amping up my workout routines and making some minor changes in my eating habits.

What Motivates Me To Workout

What Motivates Me To Workout - Stylista Esquire - @stylistaesquire

For some people, exercise is a four letter word, and I totally understand why.  It can be time-consuming, expensive, and plain, old, boring.  But working out is and being active is one of those, you’ll be glad you did it things.  As some of you may know, I lost my mom to cancer in 2010.  She was very healthy, but this certain type of cancer runs in our family.  One of her last lessons to me was that money and physical objects don’t matter, because if you don’t have your health, you don’t have anything.  While there are some things I must do medically to make sure I live the longest and healthiest life possible, there are many things I can do on my own.

How I Stay Organized – with Lauren James

Even though I am no longer in school, September seems to still mark a new part of the year.  Also, is it a coincidence that most planners start in September/August?? I think not.  It’s a point in the year where I like to reevaluate myself – how I’m doing with my goals for the year and what I need to do to finish on a high note.  This post should be titled How I TRY TO stay organized, because it’s a daily struggle.  Everyone needs to figure out what works for them, so I’m going to give you some tips on how I keep myself organized.
