Springtime is officially here to stay. After up and down temperatures, heatwaves, and downpours, I think the weather in the DMV has started to steady itself. At least I am hoping! One of my favorite things about Spring is that I can officially pull out my Lilly Pulitzer collection. Plus, I am starting to pick out a few new pieces to add to my wardrobe.
The case for Lilly Pulitzer can go both ways. The prints are super bold and you may not be able to wear it a bunch of times because people may remember that shift dress covered in pink elephants. On the other side, who cares? Not me!
Lilly Pulitzer was made popular by my namesake, the classiest of the classy ladies, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Even though Lilly uses super bold colors and prints, the timeless styles, such as the shift and slub dress, give the pieces wearability year after year.
The Lilly Pulitzer Elsa Top is one of those classic styles. You can pair this top with jeans (as I have done) for a casual look or a black pencil skirt for work. This style is a permanent part of Lilly Pulitzer’s brand and every season they make it in the new prints. The top runs large (I am wearing am XS) and has a loose shape, so it is really comfortable.

My top is in the old Flamingo Pink Southern Charm print, which you can still find on eBay and Poshmark. The great thing about Lilly is that you can usually find what you are looking for, if you know how and where to look. If you can figure out the name of the print, eBay and Poshmark will me your best friend, but other sellers may not be. Third parties will notoriously stock up on Lilly pieces and sell them at a ridiculous markup. But if you really want something, just keep an eye out and you can snap up a great find!
