My Favorite Workout/Athleisure Clothes

Nike ‘Juvenate’ Sneakers in Black – more colors here and here

good hYOUman leggings – similar here and here

As some of you may know, fitness is a huge part of my life.  I am a big advocate for taking care of your body, so I not only workout a lot, but I am also a fitness instructor.  I have taught ZUMBA for over 4 years and have recently begun teaching barre.  This is also a shameless plug to check out NeighborhoodBarre Arlington and come tuck, lunge, and curtsy with yours truly.

With all my personal workouts, classes, and general love of athleisure wear, I have narrowed in on my favorite brands and items and now, I am sharing them with you!

good hYOUman – This brand started was started by Brett Novek in memory of his father and I love everything they make.  My ‘Bye.’ pants above are amazing – high-waisted, tons of stretch, breathable, and long enough to cover my heels.  The waist stays put throughout my classes, and I can comfortably move into all the odd positions barre requires of me!  I also have this ‘Love Yourself’ sweatshirt, which is becoming one of my all-time favorites, especially for all my Beliebers out there.

For everyday/athleisure wear:  Nike ‘Juvenate’ Sneakers – These sneakers are my absolute favorite!  I wear them as much as I can – heading to barre class, walking to grab coffee, and traveling.  You don’t need socks, so they are easy to slip on and off.  I would not recommend wearing them for actual workouts, because I don’t think the soles provide enough support for running and training.

For workouts:  Nike Free Training Shoes – Nike Frees are awesome for workouts, since they have a pretty solid base.  I really like them for my Orangetheory classes, since the soles provide just enough support for running, but transition well to the floor workout and weight training.  If you are planning on running long distances, I would recommend a sneaker with a much thicker sole for knee support, like these.

Zella – Zella has really good yoga pants and leggings, but I really love their outerwear.  They have tons of vests, sweaters, and light jackets that are perfect for throwing on after you are all sweaty.  I have this sweatshirt and it’s one of my favorites.

Lululemon – I can’t write a post about workout clothes without mentioning the daddy of them all.  To much surprise, I am not a devout Lululemon gal as some of the items are simply too pricey for what they are.  I have tried tops, shorts, pants, etc., but nothing was ever a must-have for me.  Until I found the Align Pant II.  These pants are so soft they make you feel naked.  You totally know what I mean, and it’s not weird at all.  Thick yoga pants are a pet-peeve of mine, just because I can’t move in them and I feel so constrained.  Just go try them on – you will thank me!

Now, don’t cute workout clothes make you want up and get moving??  To the mall maybe…

Till next time!
