Ok friends, I hope you are not sick of hearing about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale yet because it ain’t ending anytime soon! But fear not, I have been hard at work preparing the BEST blog post for you. And by hard at work, I mean shopping, returning, more shopping, etc.
Before we start off, I want to squash some of your possible qualms with the Anniversary Sale. Yes, a lot of the big ticket items, think Stuart Weitzman OTK boots, sell out immediately. This is mainly for two reasons, 1) the item is such a steal, and 2) the high-end designers don’t make a ton of items for the Anniversary Sale. If you are eagerly waiting for the sale to open to the public TODAY Friday, July 21, OR if you have your eye on items that may be low in stock/not in your size, I have the greatest tip for you –> Shoptagr
Shoptagr is one of my favorite shopping tools. When you are browsing online and see an item you like, just tag it and the site will send you an email when the item is on sale OR when it comes back in stock! Plus, you can specify your size! Genius. I definitely suggest tagging some of your wish-list items that may be sold out in your size. Nordstrom has been restocking all week, so many items will be available when the sale opens to the public. Plus, people are already returning items they bought last week, so you can scoop up great finds!
Now on to the fun part! I have rounded up the items you MUST HAVE and SHOULD get during the sale. I’ve focused on my favorites, and added some others for your viewing pleasure. They are either a great investment piece, a wardrobe staple at a price you cannot pass up, or an awesome deal for a trendy seasonal piece.
Investment Pieces
Tory Burch ‘Claire Ballerina Flat’ (Anniversary Sale – $165, After Sale – $258-268, black, gold, and multi) – I swore off buying Tory Burch flats a long time ago. I felt like the classic Reva style, seen on the Minnie Travel shoe with it’s rounded toe, made my feet look awful. Like stubby, loaves of bread! But when I saw these flats, with a more almond shape toe and no elastic back, I thought they were great! At about $100 off, they’re a steal and a great investment shoe. They run about 1/2 a size big, so I went down from 5.5 to 5. Speaking of Tory, she has tons of great items at the sale, including this adorable Frida Leather Satchel I am obsessed with, but the last thing I need is another bag…
Ted Baker London Wool Long Wrap Coat (Anniversary Sale – $385, After Sale – $575) – The Anniversary is a great time to pick up a Fall/Winter coat and this year’s sale has a great outerwear you should totally invest in. I am obsessed with my Ted Baker Wrap Coat, seen here. This year’s sale has a longer version of his classic coat in both navy blue and dusty pink. It’s almost $200 off, and these coats rarely go on sale!
Cashmere – Nordstrom always has tons of cashmere items on sale, including sweaters, scarves, and wraps. I usually buy one piece a year to add to my collection. I have an open cardigan and wrap and they have lasted me years. Plus, they make great gifts for your mom, aunt, mother-in-law, etc. Below, are some of my favorites.
Wardrobe Staples
Zella Live in High Waist leggings – A girl can never have too many leggings and Zella makes some of the best. These are super stretchy and you can wear them working out, hanging out, traveling, etc. During the sale you can get them for about $20 off, which may not seem like much, but for a year-round wardrobe staple, you might as well grab them on sale!
Natori bras – My new obsession. I recently ditched my Victoria’s Secret collection when I found these Natori bras. Perfect timing, since they are such a steal during the Anniversary Sale!
Boots – No one needs to tell you that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is THE best time to get some great boots. From boots to knee highs to OTK, they got it all. I’ll let them speak for themselves…
Must-Have Trendy Pieces
Blanket Scarves – Nordstrom always has a ton of scarves on sale. Last year, they sold out within the first few days! I think they learned their lesson and have a ton in stock right now. Plus, since Nordstrom carries Madewell now, you can grab one of those on super sale too. All the ones below, except the Madewell one, are under $20!
BP. Department Tops – BP. department tops (BP., Lush, Soprano) are always trendy, but they can be a bit pricey for something you may not keep in your closet too long. During Anniversary, you should definitely pick up some trendy tops for late Summer and Fall. This BP. Tie Front Blouse has quickly become one of my favorites. Below are some more top picks, including the infamous Lush Roll Tab Sleeve Woven Shirt, which you will wear all season long.
