2017 Travel Update – Where I’ve Been and Where I’m Headed

Napa Valley - Stylista Esquire - @stylistaesquire

So for a Travel Tuesday post, I thought I’d talk about the places I’ve been so far this year, and the upcoming trips I have planed.  But first, I’m sitting on a plane as I write this, and I have to admit to you that even though I do a decent amount of traveling, flying still makes me nervous…AHHH.  I’m super jumpy and scared by any form of turbulence!

In January, Bryan and I made a trip down to Fort Myers, Florida, where his dad lives.  We don’t get down there as much as we’d like, but it’s always a fun time.  We don’t do too many outings, because we like to stay in and spend time with Bryan’s dad.  Plus, he’s a great cook!  Fort Myers has a lot of planned communities for retirees and snowbirds, so it’s a nice change of pace from the hustle and bustle in the DMV.

In March, we headed to San Francisco and Napa, for all the touristy things.  I visited San Fran when I was very little, so I was excited to go back as an adult. We saw the Golden Gate Bridge and ate lots of yummy food.  As for Napa, it was truly a dream!  Wine tasting in the beautiful vineyards of Napa Valley makes you appreciate and enjoy wine THAT MUCH MORE. I have a pretty good guide to Napa that hits all the must-see wineries and must-eat restaurants.

During the month of May, I visited Bryan while he was working in NYC, which is always so fun.  A bunch of my girlfriends (from all parts of my life) ended up being there, so it felt like a fun reunion!  I also got to visit The Met, which was so. large.  For Memorial Day Weekend, we goT to visit Annapolis, Maryland, for the first time, thanks to the Annapolis Waterfront Hotel!

June was quiet, but in July, we went to Bryan’s hometown so that I could help throw his brother’s fiancé a bridal shower.  Bryan is from Upstate NY – like UPSTATE, UPSTATE, so it can be a decent drive.

August was my crazy month – I was in Chicago for TBS Con; we headed back to Napa, yes, I know; and then up to Maine for a family wedding.  Chicago was amazing (I need to order some deep-dish pizza right now), Napa was great (but when is it not?), and Maine was beautiful!  We stayed in the adorable town of Kennebunkport.  Think water, boats, local shops, and people not looking when they cross the street! Kidding…not.

I just came back from Los Angeles on Monday, and am due for lots of sleep. A travel guide for LAX will be up soon!

Places I’m Headed To
  1. Las Vegas – for my bestie’s Bachelorette Party, which I planned! Eek! I may do a quick guide on planning a bach party in Vegas! So long as everything goes well…look out for updates!
  2. Disney World – I LOVE Disney World and am meeting my cousin and niece there! This reminds me…I need to pick out some matching t-shirts for us!
  3. New York City –Bryan and I try to meet his mom in NYC during the holiday season, because it’s so festive! Last year we saw Kinky Boots and this year, we are hoping to see The Lion King or Aladdin!

Bryan and I are also hopping to jump back to Napa after Christmas…whoops.  Can you tell we like our wine??

Happy Travel friends! Let me know if you are headed anywhere!
