The AWAY Bigger Carry-On

AWAY Bigger Carry-On - Stylista Esquire - @stylistaesquire

So I have a hard time admitting when I am wrong.  When I first saw the AWAY suitcases popping up, I didn’t believe the hype.  I just thought so what?? How can you really make luggage any different than what it has been for the past 20 years?? It’s a box that holds your stuff inside a bigger box (the plane).  I have been using my Bric’s Bellagio Spinner Trunk for a while now. It’s oh so pretty, but my only complaint is that since it is an international brand, the size is made to comply with international airlines.  Note – it’s small.  When I was preparing for my trip to Vietnam, I wanted a carry-on suitcase that would fit 2 weeks worth of clothes.  I pondered, did a lot of research, bit the bullet and ordered the AWAY Bigger Carry-On, and I haven’t looked back!

2017 Travel Update – Where I’ve Been and Where I’m Headed

Napa Valley - Stylista Esquire - @stylistaesquire

So for a Travel Tuesday post, I thought I’d talk about the places I’ve been so far this year, and the upcoming trips I have planed.  But first, I’m sitting on a plane as I write this, and I have to admit to you that even though I do a decent amount of traveling, flying still makes me nervous…AHHH.  I’m super jumpy and scared by any form of turbulence!

In January, Bryan and I made a trip down to Fort Myers, Florida, where his dad lives.  We don’t get down there as much as we’d like, but it’s always a fun time.  We don’t do too many outings, because we like to stay in and spend time with Bryan’s dad.  Plus, he’s a great cook!  Fort Myers has a lot of planned communities for retirees and snowbirds, so it’s a nice change of pace from the hustle and bustle in the DMV.

Blue Bottle Coffee Georgetown - Stylista Esquire @stylistaesquire

Happy Friday friends!  It’s officially September and I CANNOT deal.  This Summer flew by and the year is not slowing down anytime soon.  Honestly, when I was in school, I loved the end of August/September.  For me, it marked a transition point in the year.  You could re-evaluate your goals, set new ones, and plan out an amazing end to the year.  Next week, I’ll have more on this, as I will be talking about how to get yourself organized (or at least attempt to!).  For now, I’m going to take a look back at some of my favorite posts from this Summer!

Chicago Travel Guide – What to Do, See, and Eat

Chicago Travel Guide - Stylista Esquire - @stylistaesquire

I can honestly say I fell in love with The Windy City! As some of you may have seen through my Instagram stories, I was in Chicago for The Blog Societies Conference.  If you haven’t heard of The Blog Societies, or TBS, it’s a tight-knit network of bloggers started by Cathy and Jessica, who are amazing bloggers!  I’m sure you follow one or both of them already!  They are so talented in what they do, and luckily, they decided to share their knowledge and connections with fellow bloggers.  I’m so thankful for them for introducing me to some wonderful ladies and for giving me an excuse to visit Chicago!  Below, I’m talking about some of the fun things I did in the city, for when you get the chance to spend some time in Chi-Town.

24 Hours in Annapolis, MD at the Annapolis Waterfront Hotel

24 Hours in Annapolis, MD - Stylista Esquire - @stylistaesquire

The Tuesday after a 3-day weekend can be worse than a case of the Mondays.  First, you dread getting back to the grind AND you have a short week to get all that boring, work stuff done.  Bryan and I got to spend time with family and have a mini getaway of our own in Annapolis, Maryland.  I am from the DMV (what locals affectionately call the District and the surrounding MD and VA area) and am ashamed to say that I have never been to Annapolis.  We finally got a chance to visit this quaint town and here is a guide for 24 Hours in Annapolis, Maryland.
