Another week has started, and I cannot believe how fast time is flying by!  And oh my, has the weather in DC taken a turn.  We are in full-blown summer mode and it is sweltering!  This past weekend, I laid out by my pool, and could only sit for about an hour before I was roasting.  But it has not been hot long enough for the pool water to be warm, so it was ice cold!  What a dilemma!  The end result?  I went inside and laid on the couch while the ceiling fan was going…HA!

Anywho…Summer is one of those seasons when you need a plethora of dresses.  I wear dresses to work, on the weekends, to parties, and just hanging around.  This Free People ‘Perfectly Victorian” Minidress is super easy to wear.  The cute, babydoll style, along with the pretty embroidery and detailed sleeves and bottom, make it a great dress to just throw on and look put together.  For sizing, Free People tends to run large in their sweaters and tops and true to size in their dresses.  I got an XS and it fits perfectly.  Plus, it’s currently 50% off at Shopbop and also comes in blue, cream, and yellow!

For shoes, I paired the dress with these adorable Steve Madden ‘Carrson’ sandals.  I mentioned these in my last post, and they are truly an awesome sandal!  The sandals have a stacked heel, which make them decently comfortable to walk in.  Plus, they come in tons of great colors, so whether you need shoes for a wedding or just for fun, you can find a color for you.
